Lake Drummond Baptist Church sits at the crossroads of Ballahack Road and Lake Drummond Causeway in the City of Chesapeake, Virginia. One of the oldest churches in the area, the Church was organized on July 17, 1850, with nine members from the mother church, Northwest Baptist Church, located about 8 miles east on Ballahack Road. The church's first meeting place was in a small school until, in 1851, the first house of Worship was built and continues to serve the surrounding communities.

Lake Drummond Baptist Church believes in the Great Commission, and as such, strives to minister not only in the local community, but in conjunction with other Associational Churches, throughout the world. Our ministries range from the feeding of the poor in our local community, to supporting evangelistic efforts in Southeast Asia.

God has greatly blessed the people that make up the Body here at Lake Drummond. In fact, on March of 2005 – for the first time in the 154 year existence of the church, we began an additional Worship Service to meet the needs of a growing community. It is our fervent prayer that God continue to use us in the spirit of the Great Commandment to carry out The Great Commission.

Through the years, the church was served by part-time ministers, however, on April 1st , 1973 the church called on its first full-time pastor, Reverend Charles B. Kello, Jr. Rev. Kello served the church faithfully until his retirement on June 30th , 1983. On June 26th, 2002 Rev. James T. Trautz Jr. was called to serve as our Pastor and left the church on 16 June 2007 when God led him on another journey of his life. The church recently called our current Pastor, Rev. Buddy Hoggard, on November 7th, 2007.
